Our journal series, Style Files, takes a look into the wardrobes, shoe collections and creative minds of women within our tribe.
In our latest edition, we spoke with our Resort '24 photographer Remy Bernhardt who shares her top tips for travelling in Bali, her favourite bag right now and gives us a little insight into her personal style.
My style is pretty classic. I love investing in timeless pieces and elevating them with the right accessories. I lean towards a more casual and masculine style - I always opt for trousers and shorts over skirts and dresses. As a former stylist, I usually plan my outfits carefully - though on set, it’s a different story. I’m usually a hot, sweaty mess when I’m shooting!
I’ve been obsessed with bags for as long as I can remember. In kindergarten, I used to make bags out of paper and staples, I actually envisioned myself to be a bag designer when I was a kid. I remember feeling so grown-up whenever I carried a handbag.
Honestly, I have way too many bags! My collection is super diverse - some bags are bold and bright, others are more minimal with just a few buckle details, some absolutely huge... I have bags in literally all shapes and sizes, I never sell or chuck out my handbags because I believe they are pieces in the wardrobe that you can wear time and time again.
The Everyday XL Bag is an absolute essential for my travels - it’s big enough for my laptop and anything else I don’t want to check in. When I fly, I typically wear black, maybe because it helps me feel chic while being comfy in loose pieces, so the Everyday XL Bag always ties in well with my 'airport fits'.
Many people treat Bali as a quick getaway, but I think it’s a mistake not to take the time to really explore. Bali can be busy and chaotic, so it’s important to travel and explore its surrounds. Spend a few days in Bingin, venture out to the islands, and really immerse yourself in Indonesia’s beauty.
Sumba and Bingin are my top spots.
Best places to eat:
There are so many incredible restaurants in Bali, but these are some must-tries:
- Yuki: Amazing Japanese cuisine in Uluwatu and Canggu.
- Mason: One of the best restaurants.
- Satu Warung in Uluwatu.
- Numero Quattro in Canggu - don’t miss the tiramisu!
- Fu House in Seminyak is sublime.
Best places to stay:
- Mu Bungalows, Bingin Beach.
- The Ronja, Bingin Beach.
- Tekko Villas, Umalas.
- Cap Karoso, Sumba.
- The Sanubari, Sumba.
Bingin Beach will always be my favourite.
Must-do’s:
You absolutely have to travel to the islands. Sumba, Lombok and Gili Asahan are some of my favourite hidden gems in Indonesia.

Bring charcoal tablets - just in case the Bali belly hits! And most importantly, be kind to the locals; they are truly the most wonderful people.
